about
"Lost Child" is about conflict between inner child and reality.
Since It is hard to freely live ours, the risk we run is negation of itself - in order to avoid difficulties of any sort in justifing the existance of a childish part of us - . But inner child is also our most free and sincere part of ourselves and the one we should keep alive to reach happiness.
Is there a way out? This frantic modern system wants all of us to answer there isn’t, and the song has provocatively this “ system induced” end point, like many others from the band.
lyrics
A life spent outlining worlds
Couldn’t this be shelter for your thoughts and hopes?
And if it is worth nothing than at least you know
The child that is in you could there find a home
Since you grew up, and so did the idea
That concede yourself dreaming is something far from real
You hide yourself in these wonders because
In his kingdom, a King can be who he wants to be
The lone Dreamland Lord
When asked someone else to join him in his world
Maybe too old, or just maybe too young
He couldn’t meet them halfway, in this life at half
By losing them all
You realized you must choose
Between losing them
Or the child that is in you
